For existing ADSL customers wanting to change to AdamDirect

Changing to AdamDirect from another provider

If you already have standard ADSL with another Internet Service Provider (i.e. Telstra, Optus, TPG) you cannot directly transfer to AdamDirect ADSL2+. This is because AdamDirect is Adam Internet's own network, separate from the standard ADSL services. Even if you currently have ADSL, this does not necessarily mean you qualify for AdamDirect (Please contact our office and one of our staff will be able to do a proper Service Qualification).

Now that you understand this, you have two Options:

Option 1 - Go Directly to AdamDirect

Once we have verified that you qualify for AdamDirect ADSL2+ (and 95% of customers do), go online and submit your order for AdamDirect. Once this order is in place, you will need to contact your existing ADSL provider and request a disconnection of your existing ADSL service (please check your contract cancellation/termination fees with your provider before disconnection).

A disconnection of your ADSL service will allow Adam Internet to commence provisioning of your AdamDirect Service.  A disconnection takes around 2 to 3 working days and we will automatically check the status of your line to ensure we submit your order as soon as the system indicates a successful disconnection. From submission of our order it will generally take 5 - 10 working days for your AdamDirect service to be completed. In the meantime, we can organise a Dial-Up service Free of Charge* for the period you are without ADSL.

* Dial-Up service provided at a nominal rate of $24.95 per Month and is provided free whilst you have an order for ADSL in our System.  Should you withdraw your ADSL order, this service will be charged accordingly.

Option 2 - Transfer to Standard ADSL and watch AdamDirect come to you

Generally, you should be able to "Rapid Transfer" to us from your current provider (we can help you find out if they support this capability).  Rapid Transfer allows you to transfer to our Standard ADSL network with minimal downtime (measured in Minutes and Hours, not Days). Services are provisioned based on a "No Contract Period Basis" at a cost of $35.00.  You can choose your speed 256k, 512k, 1500k or 8000k at the current cost of AdamHome ADSL.

Each of our AdamDirect exchanges are "Swept" once every 12 Months to transfer existing eligible customers to our AdamDirect network. This is an average timeframe and should not imply an obligation nor can a specific date be provided. At the completion of this network sweep you can change your plan from AdamHome to AdamDirect for a simple, one time fee of $90.00. This upgrade is done through the online Member Services are on the Adam Internet website.

Existing Adam ADSL Customers: Migration Explained

Migration is the process of moving existing Adam Internet ADSL customers on a Telstra exchange to the AdamDirect network, making ADSL2+ available. If you have an active ADSL connection with Adam Internet by the migration cutoff date indicated for your exchange, your service will automatically be "migrated" to the AdamDirect network, keeping the existing speed and plan type. You can then exercise your migration option to AdamDirect in the Members Area of the Adam Internet website.

Customers wishing to migrate from AdamHome ADSL to AdamDirect after the bulk migration period will incur migration fees depending on the connection status of their individual exchange. See Options 1 and 2 as described above.
